2/14/13 NBCC Church Revival Day #3, Pastor Marvin Sapp, Lighthouse Church, Michigan = Holler Until He Hears You!!  Luke 18:35-43

We Christians need to holler to Jesus when we face situations that come for the purpose of distracting us. The purpose of the distraction is to stop us from moving forward in the purpose of God. We lose focus, get irritated and rely on the environment to survive. In a position of survival, we will compromise in order to survive. We will compromise who we are and our integrity. We will do things and hang with people we said we would never do or be with. Also we will find ourselves in a stagnant place. We are stuck where we are and not getting any better. We’re still in the same position. The crisis has impeded, affected our vision. The break thru is not in what we see but in what we say. Break thru happens with what we say! Open up your mouth.

Proverbs 8:6  Open your mouth.  Learn how to speak life! Sometimes the only encouragements we will get are the words coming out of our own mouth! You don’t need to find somebody to comfort you and to placate you. You need to speak the words of life to yourself! We can Declare and Decree things ourselves! We don’t need to shut up but we need to speak up!  Proverbs 18:21, The power of the tongue. Speak life, speak the Word!  Make up in your mind that no matter how bad things look, speak the word and speak life over everything. We need to speak life in our situations. Saying the right thing in the right time will cause Jesus to stand still for you. Timing is everything!

Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem when the blind man called him. Jesus was focused on his up and coming crucifixion.  Jesus was distracted by the blind man calling out to him. The blind man was the son of a low down man and he was also a beggar. He had to rely on other people’s favor to survive because he was blind. In the 21st century church, a whole lot of people rely on other people that cannot save them, help them or bless them like Jesus. We have to come to church to show up for Jesus and not for other folk! Many have become co-dependent on others to survive.  We allow the circumstances of our life to affect our vision. We are not to be co-dependent on folk. Eventually they will leave us hanging! We need to depend on God! We got a friend in Jesus! Trust in the Lord with all your heart!

The blind man sat at the wayside begging because he had no vision to move. He knew people were used to seeing him sitting there.  Proverbs 29:18 No vision…lose the ability to focus and see your future. Satan wants us to focus on the struggle and not on the future. We need to see the struggle as a thing to make us strong. God always gives us a way of escape. We are not a victim but a Victor!
The blind man was: vision-less, favor-less, co-dependent. But……when the blind man learned Jesus was passing by, he had the right spirit to hear the right stuff. He wanted to get out of his uncomfortable position so he called on Jesus!  The blind man changed his approach from begging. When he begged, he had to have a low demeanor and look pitiful when he begged for change. When he heard Jesus was passing by, he began to holler for change! What man could give him was temporary. What Jesus could give him was permanent! He began to holler at the top of his lungs…..JESUS!  People told him to shut up and he hollered more and louder…JESUS!

There are people in our lives who see us struggling and when we start hollering for Jesus, they will tell us to shut up. Holler Anyway!  JESUS!  JESUS! The blind man hollered at the top of his lungs. Turn up the volume! JESUS! Learn to ignore your haters and holler for Jesus until he hears you! We want our break thru! We are going to holler until the change in our crisis comes thru JESUS!!

Jesus stood still when he heard the blind man through the loud multitude of people passing by. There is a pitch, a tone in your voice and Jesus can sense it like a radar.  He can answer your prayer wherever you are. Holler for Jesus!!  HOLLER FOR JESUS!!  Jesus commanded the people to bring the blind man to him. These were the same haters and the same people who had told him to shut up.  Don’t hate on your haters because Jesus will use them to elevate us and help us in our break thru!

When we get with Jesus, we need to be real with him and don’t try to act all spiritual. Go to him as you are and ask for help. Jesus asked the blind man what he needed and Jesus healed him. When the blind man got his vision, his sight, he followed Jesus while glorifying God.  We need to stay connected to the one who gives us vision! When God gives us our break thru, even our haters are going to praise God!

*** Homework:  Seek the Lord and write out a 5 year plan. Write the vision, read it and run with it! Declare and Decree the thing and it is so. It may tarry but it will come to pass!

AMEN
