Sunday 2/26/12 Pastor Michael sermon= Positioned to Prosper-Recovering from Life’s Storms  Genesis :20-22, Prov 3:9-10, Prov :22

Many people go through storms of life and never fully recover from
them--mentally or emotionally. Their usual sense of balance and control in life is never fully regained. Their sense of balance in life is never the same again. Deaths in family, bankruptcy, education fowl ups, divorces or our futures not the way we envisioned them to be. This is because of life’s storms. Noah went thru a storm in life with the flood destroying all the wicked folk in the world. Noah had a relationship with God and had the favor of God.. When Noah got off the ark after being on the ship for 150 days, he wanted to reposition himself with God.

1)  Noah built an altar to God .
The altar was a place to commune with God and to have a relationship with the Lord. Noah had to elevate, exalt the Lord. The altar was built higher than anything else. When we put God first, He will put us first! God has to be the pilot, not the co-pilot in our life! God wants to take over and be in control! Noah was worshipping and praising God at the altar. He praised God for getting him thru the storm.
We owe God High Praise because He got us thru the storm and we don’t even have the smell of smoke on our clothes! We owe God praise!  If He wasn’t with us thru the storm we wouldn’t be here today in our right mind!! We are storm survivors!! We been rained on but we knew who to turn to in the midst of the storm. We trusted and never doubted that the Lord would get us through!! Think of the goodness of Jesus and all that He has done! He is the only reason we are here today! We are still here! God has protected us in the middle of our storms!!
Noah got right off the ark and went to build the altar right away. Other folk that were stuck on a ship for 150 days, would have kissed the ground once they got on dry land.  But Noah went a build a altar. It had rained 40 days and 40 nights and Noah made it thru because of God. The Lord kept Noah when the storm should have taken him out!

2) Noah used  the altar to sacrifice clean animals to the Lord:
He brought the best of what he had. We need to do the same and prioritize God. Take out the best and the first for God.! Anytime God does something for us, he shouldn’t have to beg us to thank him and give to him. Some of us treat God like a bad friend. A bad friend is the one you call after you called all your other friends first to go or do something with you. Some of us treat God like he is a bad friend and only give to God when we are in need. Noah separated his stuff and gave the best to God first.

Prov 3:9-10   Solomon said, the richest man on earth, said…….
To honor the Lord with thy substances and the first fruits of thine increase. Do this then….  verse 10 Your barns (bank accounts) will be filled with plenty.!
God will fill us up totally! We will be thinking our bank account should be empty but its not! God will give us enough money for ourselves, family, friends, etc .  Where the money from God came from, He has more.!!

Prov 8:22  God said there is seed time and harvest time. We will never be broke another day in our life because when there is good seed for us to sow, we will get a harvest from God! Our Harvest time is here!  Favor!! Favor!!

AMEN
